Canton, Ohio, March 24, 2005 – Beneto Bulk Transport received the Hauler of the Year Award (U.S.) for 2004 from ExxonMobil, the world’s largest oil company.
Beneto, a Sacramento, Calif.-based subsidiary of the Canton, Ohio-based Kenan Advantage Group, earned the award by obtaining the highest score last year in four weighted categories that ExxonMobil judges for excellence among its vendors.
“This award was well-deserved by Beneto because of their fine score during the past year,” said Mike Soares, ExxonMobil fleet manager for the south and southwest.
“We created this award to draw recognition to companies that maintain a high standard of performance and also as a motivator to other companies in their quest to provide excellent service.”
“We’ve always maintained high standards when dealing with our customers, and we’re gratified ExxonMobil recognized the contribution and effort of our employees,” said Beneto Vice President/General Manager Chet Friday.
“Our drivers and managers commitment to excellence reflects in the safety and service levels we strive to maintain,” Friday said.
The award identifies vendors who eliminate or reduce problems related to personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, spills or errors in mixing fuel.
The categories included:
Motor vehicle accidents
ExxonMobil presented a large plaque to Beneto’s management and sent a smaller replica of the award to the six Beneto terminals servicing ExxonMobil. In addition, all Beneto ExxonMobil drivers received shoulder patches signifying their accomplishment during 2004.
